As many of you know, each year, I ask for help from my readers to donate to worthwhile causes. This year, I have no ‘heartbreaking’ story to give you that inspires you to donate, in fact, I’ve left it late this year to even start! I have found it so touching to recieve emails asking me if I would be doing anything this year – it shows just how much each of you cares 🙂
This year, I have struggled with my own health and diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The worst symptoms that I have is tiredness and vertigo and when I relapse there can be mobility issues, serious brain fog and a tremor was my latest addition 🙂 I do recover from my relapses, but it’s not 100% – the vertigo and balance problems do not go at all anymore.
I’m not telling you this for any other reason than to keep you updated on what is going on with ‘me’ and why I have not been as consistant as I would like. I can no longer work full-time and generally just go with how I am feeling as to how much I do.
What I have found through all of this is that we adapt. Life can be a big bag of crap sometimes but there are ALWAYS people worse than you and counting your blessings (no matter how hard it can be doing so) is something that I try to do each day.
I have the care and support of my family and to be honest, I’m just really glad that my kids are old enough to understand and look after themselves to a certain degree. What we would do with a very young family – I have no idea! The very though sends shivers through me.
There are people who have no choice but to carry on. They have no relatives and small children to look after and the support they get is limited. When they have an illness of any kind, the feeling of being alone can become so overpowering it becomes all consuming.
These are the people that I want to help – those who have limited support. Those who are doing the best they can in, sometimes, terrible circumstances. So this year, if you can find it in your hearts to help – please, please, please donate to these families that need our help and support at this time of year.
Any donations that come through will be split equally between Rainbow Trust, MIND and Care For The Families.
