My husband just came home and told me how he wrote a surprise check to young woman who works at the minimart who is heading off to college after the new year. Money is tight and she is nervous so he handed her a check saying he knows how hard it is money-wise to pay college expenses. The young woman started crying and crying because nobody outside her family had ever done something like that for her. When he told me of his good deed I figured I could donate a little more here. I can only imagine how this mother with the sick child is feeling to have perfect strangers from all over the world willing to contribute what they can so she can bring her child home. She had to relearn to walk and talk, and relearn who her family was, but she was strong and committed and did all that. Today, she is healthy and happy, and plans to work until she drops. At 71, she still works at the front counter of a dry cleaning establishment, and loves her job. There were days when we thought she wouldn't make it. There were months when we didn't know if she would ever be the same mom again. She wasn't ever quite the same. Few people are after such a life altering event, but she survived and thrived. Your care for her will make a big difference in her recovery. God bless you and your family at this time. I will keep you in my prayers. I don't have much to donate, but I will send a little.
