First of all, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year - May this year be very prosperous for you online! ![]()
Now, one of the questions that I get asked a lot is “What should I start selling online?” The problem with this question is that I just can’t answer it for you. People who ask that question need to go back to basics and work out how to find a HOT product/market and then make sure that there is a hungry crowd just waiting to buy it.
Sounds simple? It can be.
Finding something that sells needn’t be hard work or soul destroying. Just look at it as something that needs to be done to get ahead. After a while, you will start to see how easy it can be to find these markets and then drill down into them to get your niche.
I’m often amazed that people wont touch a market because of saturation - lots of people promoting it means that there is money to be made. All you need to do is think outside the box a little and give them something different. Offer them something more than your competition is doing.
NEVER think that only digital products are worth promoting - physical products are just as great and can even be more profitable in the long run. Thinking outside the box can sometimes seem like a hard task - it’s not, it’s simply a learning curve.
People seem to follow everyone else and wonder why they are not making any sales - the customer is just picking a seller at random if you are just like everyone else selling the products. Be different and don’t be afraid to be so …. just take a look at how well this has worked for my friend Patrick Pretty - there is no reason why it can’t work for you too.
I’m not saying that it has to be totally off the wall here - but just by going for a different crowd of buyers is all it needs to be sometimes. With internet marketing you can’t please all the people all the time. One of my products might be great for everyone - do I promote it to everyone or go after a niche of people, students, stay at home mums etc. Think of who needs/wants the products and then work out how you can get it to them.
This week I plan to add more about niche finding and how to find hot products along with more blogging lessons so stay tuned!
