Over the coming weeks I aim to double the amount of traffic that this blog is getting. I am not going to spend any money to do that, my plan is to do this all for free. Before I start on this I need to have a plan, a plan that I can realistically work through and have goals set for each stage.
My favourite saying of all time is “If you fail to plan – you plan to fail” and this is so true when it comes to marketing.
I know that I have cheated a little with getting traffic to this new blog, after all, I have a large list that I can email when I created it. This is in effect cheating – I know that most people who create a blog wont have that luxury. (When I created my first few blogs I did not have a list either.)
I know that this blog is going to become a great resource for anyone who wants to start profiting from blogging. It’s like a learning centre for everyone – me included. I am making some good money from my niche blogs and love creating them and then watching how easy it is to start monetizing them. My plan for 2008 is to expand my blogging by at least 40% and this means putting in some real effort and taking my blogging to the next level. Simply put, it means that I am going to HAVE to learn more and I want to take you with me.
Each step of my plan will be documented on this blog as we go, each learning process will be detailed out here for you to learn with me. I want you to follow each step and then be able to put that lesson into action for yourself.
Learning is all well and good but the long and short of this is that we MUST have traffic coming to a blog in order for any monetization to take place. If you want a profitable blog you must have traffic.
This is my plan for this blog:
- Quality Unique Content
- Quality Unique Content
- Even More Quality Unique Content !
- Much More Traffic !
I know this sounds like basic stuff and it really is, no doubt about it. Traffic and content are the only things you need to worry about when you create a new blog. Once you have these two things in place you can move on to other factors within your blog like:
- Social Bookmarking
- Monetizing Your Blog
This is not an exhaustive list and not in any order, if you think that this all sounds a little too much like hard work then blogging probably isn’t for you. With anything in life you need to be prepared to take some serious action and overcome any problems that you might face along the way.
Whilst writing this post, I only know the basics on most of the subjects above, do you think I am going to let that stop me? No way! This is probably the only reason why I am successful in what I do – Nothing will stop me. If I don’t know about something – I learn it. If I really can’t do it, I ask someone for help. I take action, plain and simple.
Later today I will make a post on how I plan to get traffic to this new blog and detail the results as they happen. This is probably going to be one of the most helpful posts on here and one that you will need to follow carefully and with interest. Without this, your blog will just be sat there with only you reading what you have written.
Make sure that you have your plan for 2008 in place and ready to go.
