Using Amazon To Make Money Online

This is the first tutorial in the Make Money With Amazon series.  Although it is aimed at Amazon the tutorials can be used with any affiliate program.  Follow along with the posts and start to make money with them.  You can find links to the next tutorial at the end of each post.

I’ve often said before that the biggest problem for marketers is finding that ‘perfect’ niche.  My inbox is always jam packed with emails asking for help with their niche research.  Although I agree that it can be daunting to begin with there are some really simple steps that you can follow to make the whole process simple and easy.

One of the best ways that I find great niche markets to work in is to stop following everyone else.  Don’t get me wrong, Clickbank has amazing potential – the commissions are much bigger for digital products than they are for physical products, but it shouldn’t be the only thing that you look at.  Physical products are a goldmine when you know how to work with them.  Over the last year or so I have seen a massive raise in my earnings from Amazon mainly due to a product I started using last year called Info Product Killer. 

The product shows you how to cash in with Amazon in a very simple and easy way.  When I first got IPK I jumped straight in and saw some fairly spectacular results though I did half expect them to drop off to nothing once the Christmas period was over with.  The sales did go down but not to the degree that I was waiting for.  It also gave me a few extra problems along the way with a trademark infringement which is another story!  Overall, it gave me a good standing for moving forward with physical products and further sales.

More importantly, it gave me such a simple method of niche research that the days of searching around for niche markets to work in are now long gone.  It’s always been a case of finding something that is in demand, that people want and are prepared to pay for.  Looking for something that people are already buying and cashing in on this is so simple that anyone can do it and the markets are just endless! 

Follow these steps for yourself and see if you can’t dig up thousands of niche’s that you can work in.  These steps are very basic but will give you enough information to uncover some great profitable niche’s to work in.

• Go to Amazon
• Click on ‘bestsellers’
• Look down the category list
• See what products are selling the most in each category
• Pick a product

• Go to Google Keyword Tool
• Find out how many searches per month are made for the product
• Look for the longest keyword made with the most amount of searches

• Go to Google
• Do a search with “” for that keyword
• Take a note of the results

These three steps are in their most basic form, but you can see how simple and easy this is.  It’s nothing new, people have been using this simple and easy method for years.  Everything you need to find a great niche is right there waiting for you.

My own personal rule is that so long as they product is searched for at least 1000 times per month and that there are not more than 8000 competing sites in the search results – I’ll go ahead and target that niche. 

Yes, there is a little more to it than this, but the amount of niche markets that you can discover are endless.  This post is made to give you the basic steps to take to find the niche.  You already know that the niche is profitable because people are buying the product.  You know people are looking for the product – now all you have to do is get in the middle and cash in!
